Bloomsday weekend in a new work by Cullivan and Schalks

Nuns Island Theatre this Sunday, June 17th at 3.00pm.

NORA BARNACLE, the Galway girl who was James Joyce’s wife, muse, best friend, and source of inspiration will be celebrated this Bloomsday weekend in a new work by renowned Galway based music artist Tom Cullivan.

“Nora At Nuns Island” by legendary composer and pianist Tom Cullivan is premiered in the Nuns Island Theatre today Sunday, June 17th at 3.00pm.

The show features 13 concert songs, operatic arias, and ballads of the kind Nora loved to sing, stitched into a narrative thread derived from her famously wise and incisive apercus, embedded into James Joyce’s writings.

The show will feature soprano and actress Sandra Schalks, accompanied by Tom Cullivan.
