Jewellery Making Workshop at Galway City Museum

Saturday, July 14, 2012, 11am- 2pm at the Galway City Museum.
Galway City Museum will host a jewllery making workshop by renowned Irish maker, Natasha Heaslip, this Saturday, 11am-2pm, for children aged between 10 – 14 years old, in which the children will learn how to make jewellery from recycled objects! The workshop has been inspired by 21st Century Icons, an exhibition that is on loan to the Museum from… the National Craft Gallery, in which some of Ireland’s leading contemporary jewellery makers reinterpret the ancient Celtic neckpiece known as the Torc.

Natasha will work with the children to make jewellery from recycled objects. All participants are asked to bring one object with them to the workshop (such as an empty cereal box or plastic bottle – a full list of likely objects will be available to all on booking).

The workshop is free of charge but booking is essential. For further information contact 091 532460/ museum@galwaycity.ie
