Don’t Go: Spoken Dance
A lack of unifying ritual stirs the soul. Yet an openness to console each other unites. ‘Don’t Go’ is a twenty minute movement piece – a triad of traditional and unexpected physical responses to ‘loss’, which will intrigue and sympathise with anyone who has ever lost someone and considered the rituals of mourning. This piece tells the stories of three people, individuals with disabilities, diverse ethnic origins and older age. An experience that defies traditional boundaries of a stereotypical dancer’s age, gender, culture and disability, enabling people to find one’s own path in the template of sorrow.
