Heritage Week: Children’s workshops at City Museum

Heritage Week (Saturday,18th – Sunday 26th August, 2012). Children’s workshops at Galway City Museum. Places are limited so prior booking is essential. If you have any queries or would like to make a booking please contact the Museum.

Tuesday 21st August, 10.30am-1pm. Children’s Workshop: Sea Lore Shadow Puppetry

This half-day craft workshop on the theme of sea beliefs, facilitated by local artist Róisín Coyle. Over the course of the workshop Róisín and the children will explore myths and folklore relating to the Atlantic coastline. Róisín will introduce the children to shadow puppetry and silhouettes and the children will create and invent their own shadow theatre puppets based on the stories. Age 8-12. Booking Essential

Join local archaeologist, Anne Carey, and learn the skills needed to become a junior archaeologist. Afterwards visit the museum’s archaeology displays to see some of the exciting finds unearthed in the city. Age: 5-8. Booking Essential
