Galway Cathedral has been home to
Galway Cathedral Choir since the building’s dedication in 1965. The choir, which is open to teenagers and adults, provides the music at all major feasts and liturgical occasions in the Cathedral, as well as at the regular Sunday 11.15am mass throughout the year. Its repertoire covers ten centuries, including Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, Viennese masses and some contemporary music. The choir has been directed by Raymond O’Donnell since January 1994.
Robbie Carroll is a fifth-year student in Coláiste Iognáid, Galway. He has been Organ Scholar in Galway Cathedral since September 2010, in which role he studies organ performance, accompaniment, choral direction and liturgy under Raymond O’Donnell.
The programme includes music by Haydn, Buxtehude and others. No booking is required.

  1. blessings to you all at lifewords.i have been renaidg your pages tonight and found many of them very interesting to read and look at.i am a father for disabled people in australia for 20 years and often look up many sights for them to read and also if we can find any free renaidg material or cds for them as they are on a low income and is good to see how many at times do help them out by mail. i was 34 when i worked with disabled now i’m 62 and still going strong with them.they need a lot of help in life. god bless you all. father donald thomas.date.24.11,12, time.8.52pm australia
