Galway Dance Project presents ‘Be Moved and Be Seen’

Galway Dance Project  presents an  Authentic Movement and Performance Workshop ‘Be Moved and Seen’. Galway Dance Project is delighted to present a workshop in Authentic Movement at St. Nicholas’ School Hall, Courthouse Square, Galway on October 20th next from 1.30pm to 7.30pm. The workshop will be delivered by Bernadette Divilly and participants will be guided to move from their own internal sensing and to witness their own internal impulses and motivations to action. There will be an opportunity to study the development of the witness self. Bernadette is a Dance Movement Therapist and Choreographer and has been passionately engaged with this discipline for nearly 20 years.The workshop will cost €20 and bookitg is advised as ploaces are limited. Galway Dance Project is an artist-led, non-profit organisation which supports the development of dance in Galway.The practice of Authentic Movement helps dancers and audience to develop presence and the ability to relate to others from a place of authenticity. The form involves learning to move from a deep internal sense and to witness movement arise from within the body and come into expression. Mover and witness roles are cultivated to support the process of “moving and being moved” – quote from Mary Whitehouse, the mother of this system originally described as movement-in-depth in the 1950s USA.
