‘Glorious Freaks’- An art and photography exhibition

feaks 1NUI Galway’s Feminist Society in association with the University Theatre and Arts Advisory Group are proud to present their up and coming art and photography exhibition entitled ‘Glorious Freaks’. The event will be held in the QuadArtGallery from the 4th to the 8th of March 2013 to coincide with International Women’s Day and will focus around the theme of ‘Body Image’.
There will be work on sale from a variety of painters, visual artists and photographers who’s names include Daire Lynch, Deirdre Robb, Mary Roantree, Gillian Campden, Sandra Hickey, Kayes Maahs, Nicki Cheevers, Sonya Whitefield, Gina Concannon, Rynes Walker, Ingela Sternburg, Ramona Burke and internationally acclaimed feminist photographer, Angela Kelly.
Opening night will be held on the 4th of March with guest speakers from ‘Endangered Bodies’ and complementary cheese and wine served. There will be further celebrations in the gallery on Friday the 8th for International Women’s Day which will be a BYOB event. Doors will open at 6.00pm on the 4th and the 8th with funds being raised for the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
The Exhibition will be open during the week at 11.30am to 5.00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 2.00pm to 5.00pm Thursday and from 11.30am until 10.30 Friday.
